| Equipment carriage requirements |
All sharp pointed instruments, including the knives you mention, (and especially knives), should be packed into hold stowed baggage. Any sharp instrument will be confiscated at the gate and there is no guarantee it will be loaded on the aircraft. Since September 11, all security requirements worldwide have been upgraded. At some airports internationally, confiscated objects do not get returned.
The emergency air cylinders (same with the main dive bottles) should be emptied with the valve open and securely packed into hold stowed baggage. Passengers should declare and show check-in staff, then pack into bag. Any cylinders discovered with air in them will be confiscated.

| Specialist camera carriage requirements |
Specialist cameras should be packed in hold stowed baggage. They are known to be expensive and majority of people that have these also have them seperately packed into their own case which is lined with foam packing/shock absorbing materials. That is recommended. It is also recommended that all passengers should have their own travel insurance.

PNG internal flights are operated by 60 seat F28 jet to most destinations and 36 seat Dash-8 turbo-prop to others. Overhead locker space is minimal so passenger handluggage should also be kept to a minimum. Our allowance is 1 pc, max weight 7 kgs, volume about the size of a small sports/overnight bag. The Australian DOMESTIC version of the wheelaboard should be considered the largest size bag as cabin baggage.
