Activities 1.Engaging people: •AMCAI works to identify and overcome actual, perceived and attitudinal barriers to practical inclusive marine conservation. Marine conservation can be developed as a specific activity within the ecotourism industry. We work on multiple levels with the tourism industry and marine conservation industry (as sub-sect of the tourism industry). At the individual level AMCAI provides skills, personal development opportunities and social activities to allow stakeholders, regardless of ability to volunteer in marine conservation with AMCAI and other like-minded organisations. 2.Enabling people: AMCAI continues to identify ways in which different target groups can practically participate in marine conservation (as a specific activity within the ecotourism industry), by developing and adapting methods that match needs and abilities with specific marine conservation activities and tasks 3.Technical expertise for the tourism industry and NGOs: AMCAI has developed a cost-benefit approach to modelling the positive outputs of utilising target groups. •AMCAI provides technical and practical assistance and consultancy services consisting of: · A Code of Practice for inclusive marine conservation projects. · Logistical, infrastructure, risk and needs assessments. · Training of staff and participants in adapted research techniques. · Recruitment of volunteers from target groups.
