MarLIN provides marine life information and reporting schemes for members of the public. MarLIN is the marine node for the UK National Biodiversity Network which is gathering data on the distribution of species in the UK and making it available on the Internet.

MarLIN provides information to support marine environmental management, protection and education.

| What do customers do |
MarLIN:
1. Condenses scientific literature into Web pages describing biology and sensitivity key information of seabed species and habitats.
2. Develops information resources for the public including fact sheets, identification guides and descriptions of species and habitats (see www.marlin.ac.uk/learningzone).
3. Gathers information on the distribution of species around Britain and Ireland.
4. Contributes survey results and observations to the UK National Biodiversity Network (www.nbn.org.uk)
