TRAVEL CLUB PHOTOGRAPHIC AWARDS
- 2005

The 2005 BSAC Travel Club Photography Awards were presented on 3rd December on the occasion of the BSAC Diving Officers Conference in London.
This year there were two prizes to be awarded following the introduction of a Newcomers' category.

Winner of the Open Category was Gavin Parsons with a great shark shot entitled "Liveaboard yacht" taken in Sudan. Gavin becomes Photographer of the Year and wins a framed certificate from the British Sub-Aqua Club and a holiday on Wind Dancer, the Peter Hughes Diving liveaboard in Tobago, valued at US$1,600. The prize also includes economy airfare between UK and Tobago.
Second place went to last year's winner Pedro Vieyra for his group of Manta Rays taken while enjoying his prize on the Great Barrier Reef.
Third place went to Jim Greenfield for a shot of Mating Wolf Fish taken in St Abbs.
Winner in the Newcomers' Category was Geoff Stevens for his shot of a turtle taken in Taba. Geoff becomes Newcomer of the Year and wins a framed certificate from the British Sub-Aqua Club and a generous voucher for £300 to spend on photographic equipment of his choice at Cameras Underwater.
Second place went to Dawn Watson for her "Hungry Seal" from the Farnes.
Dawn also took third place with her shot of a Jellyfish from Gozo.

The panel of Judges were led by Charles Hood, who presented the prizes.

The quality of entries continues to grow and the Newcomers can be justifiably proud of the quality of their entries. Well done to everyone who took part - the photographs are stunning and can be seen on the BSAC Travel Club website, just browse the Gallery at the left of this page.

We are grateful to our sponsors
