Don't over grease the o-rings. Silicone grease is not a sealant. It is a lubricant that allows the o-ring to slide exactly into place. Too much grease can cause flooding.
Don't use force if a bit on your camera doesn't budge. There's probably a catch or a gentle solution to free the stubborn bit
Don't leave camera lens-up in the sun without a lens cap. It'll destroy the light meter
Don't jump into the water with your camera.
Don't prepare your camera in a dark or dirty environment.
Don't use the built-in flash on cameras, they are for use above water and will cause backscatter and overexposure.
Don't chase fish; they swim faster than you can

Do take several shots if a subject is good, it is worth the extra film or card space.
Do get as close as possible to take a shot that is clearer
Do take your time to prepare your camera in a clean dry environment
Do test your camera in a fresh water dip tank first
Do check your camera for leaks whilst diving
