Dive Kit Checklist

This list of equipment is fairly detailed and should therefore be downloaded and tailored to your personal requirements. It does not distinguish between warm water and cold water requirements. Nor does it distinguish between needs for a short trip and a holiday. Use your judgement and knowledge of likely conditions to adjust the list accordingly. Obviously, if you are flying you will have to scrutinise the list to eliminate unnecessary weight or bulky items.

If diving in local waters it may be best to pack equipment in large plastic crates, so wet kit doesn't soak the surrounding area after diving. When travelling abroad, a purpose-designed dive bag is ideal. They are robust and usually have many compartments, some designed for fins etc. You should try to dry all kit before packing it for your return. Take a dustbin liner or two with you as these can be used for kit which is still damp.

Pack small items such as spares/tools/clips/glues, first-aid kit and liquids/creams in rigid airtight plastic food (Tupperware) containers. This keeps everything together and prevents possible contamination of other items if a container is broken.

Remember to mark your name clearly on all kit with an indelible marker.

Clothes
You will need to add items of clothing, washing and sanitary requisites to the above list. Remember you may be travelling between different climates, possibly returning from hot to cold weather and need practical clothes to travel in.
