Lombok

Lombok is the eastern neighbour to the island of Bali. Lombok has tried to develop it's tourism industry to rival Bali but ethnic tensions in the early 1990's have slowed the development of this industry. A lot of the diving is centred on the Gili islands just of the north west coast of Pulau Lombok. Mataram is the capital city of Lombok, and is served by an International airport. It is also possible to reach Lombok by ferry from neighbouring Bali.

Notable Dive Sites

Sekotong
Pinnacle diving for the more experienced diver due to currents. It is possible to see most fish life here and some very pretty corals. Sightings of schooling hammerhead sharks are possible during the dry season.

Shark Point
This is a site that lends its self to multi-level diving in the 24-18 metre range. Take advice from local guides, some of the canyons bottom out at 50metres and deeper.

Air Wall
Wall diving where the corals can at certain times take on a surreal yellow-orange appearance. Good selection of macro life and reef fish, including white tip reef sharks

Malimbu Bay
One of the most popular dive sites in the area. Something to interest all divers here

Senggigi
Macro heaven.

Best Time to Visit
